Facebook Forms Safety Advisory Board For Online Safety !

Including five Internet Safety Organizations, Facebook has formed a safety advisory board in order to consult with the Social Networking sites about the issues that are related to online safety.
Facebook plans to meet regularly with board members to talk about the existing safety resources provided to the users. At the same time, it is eager to develop new materials and to seek advice on general safety best practices. Facebook’s vice president Elliot Schrage said in a statement "We believe that the only way to keep kids safe online is for everyone who wants to protect them to work together."

"The formation of a board to advise specifically on safety issues is a positive, innovative and collaborative step towards creating a more robust safety environment, and we are thrilled that such a well-respected, trusted group of organizations has joined us in this endeavor”, the VP added.
Common Sense Media, ConnectSafely, WiredSafety, Childnet International and The Family Online Safety Institute are the five organizations on the safety advisory board.
