Can Fast Flip From Gmail Labs Replace Google News?

Google News Homepage adds a new feature called Fast Flip. It is an innovative service comes from Google Labs, which allows you to scan quickly the news articles. If you can scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a list of the most viewed articles and some popular topics.
The speed and visual nature of the service encourages readers to look at many articles. At the same time, you can view the one that catches your interest. Just click through to the story publishers’ websites and use the feature.

It is unlike Google News, because it only shows a small snippet from the article but the Fast Flip displays a screenshot that comprises the first paragraphs of the article. That means Google needs to get permission from each news site before adding it to Fast Flip. Therefore, if the experiment will become successful, then the Fast Flip will make news article more discoverable because it is able to replace the image view of Google News.
