Before you can check the spelling in a message, you must select the language you want to use.
If you are using Windows mail and you don’t know to check spelling in a message, this article will be very useful for you.
How to set the language for the spelling checker
1.    You can open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button, choosing All Programs, and then choosing Windows Mail.
2.    Then click the Tools menu, choose Options, and then click on the Spelling tab.
3.    Thereafter, under Language, in the drop-down list, choose the language you want to use (English, French, German, or Spanish).
4.    After choosing that, click on Apply, and then click on OK.
5.    Remember, even if the English is listed as the default language, you should select English if you want to use it.

What to do, if the web browser is opening the email program instead of Windows Mail
This happens when another program is set as the default e-mail program. If you want any particular message to open in Windows Mail instead, you should need to set Windows Mail as the default e-mail program.
How to set Windows Mail as the default e mail program
1.    You can open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button, choosing All Programs, and then choosing Windows Mail.
2.    Then click the Tools menu, choose Options.
3.    Thereafter, click “Make Default” next to This application is NOT the default Mail handler.
4.    At the same time, if the Make Default button is not available, then Windows Mail is already set as your default e mail program. No need to worry about that.
