How to uninstall Windows Media Player 11 from the Windows Operating System

If you’re looking for the steps to uninstall the Windows Media Player 11 in Windows XP and you’re unaware of that, this article will be very useful for you. In this article, we’ve given two different methods to perform the same steps.

First Method : Uninstall Windows Media Player in safe mode
•    Boot to the Windows in the Safe Mode.
•    You can get into the Safe Mode by tapping the F8 Key as soon as the Computer restarts.
•    Then choose Safe Mode and then press the Enter key.
•    After that, go to the Start Menu and choose Run. Instead, you can press Windows Key + R Key to get the Run command.
•    Then type “appwiz.cpl” in the Run command box.
•    Then click on OK.
•    Now, click Windows Media Player 11 and then click on Remove.
•    After that, follow the instructions to uninstall the Windows Media Player 11.
•    Then restart the Computer when you’re prompted.
•    If this method doesn’t resolve the issue, you can try the second method.



Second Method : Run a program to remove Windows Media Player
1.    After that, go to the Start Menu and choose Run. Instead, you can press Windows Key + R Key to get the Run command.

2.   And then, click OK.
3.    After that, click Next and then click Finish.
4.    If you want to prevent the Windows Update from downloading Windows Media Player 11, you can follow the following steps

1.    Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
2.    Choose Window Update from the Start Menu and All Programs.
3.    Now, click on Custom and then choose Software.
4.    After that, click Optional in the Microsoft Update Home pane.
5.    Now, you can expand the Windows Media Player 11.
6.    Now, you have to uncheck the “Don’t show this update again” check box.
7.    Remember, to clear the Windows Media Player 11 check box, if the “Don’t show this update again” is unclear or unavailable.
8.    Then click to select the “Don’t show this update again” check box.
9.    Now, click on Review and Install updates in order to save the settings.
