Kanex releases HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Converter

HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Converter has been disclosed by Apogee. This converter lets you connect any HDMI source device into a 27-inch iMac, LED Cinema Display and any other Apple device that has an mDP input. Moreover, it has come out with PS3, XBOX 360 or Blu-ray player and iMac’s two-channel speakers. Besides, it supports HDMI 1.3 and DisplayPort/Mini DisplayPort 1.1.a. The maximum resolution of the regular DVI is 1920 x 1200 and the consoles are reportedly limited in order to send a native 720P.

At the same time, the adapter lets video pass through only and doesn’t perform scaling. This adapter is expected to be available from April 2010. The suggested price of the Adapter is $150 and package includes 3-foot mDP cable.
