Use Shift Key to disable Computer Startup Prgrams

If you’ve some problems at the System Startup, it will cause logon delays or even prevent the Computer from completing the Windows Startup in normal mode. There is a way to simplify the configuration is disabling the startup applications. You can prevent the Operating System from running startup programs by holding the down the Shift Key or shortcuts in the following folders.
•    %SystemDrive%\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
•    %SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

In order to disable the applications or the shortcuts in the preceding folders, you should hold down the Shift Key until the Desktop icons appear. It is a better solution rather than temporarily deleting or moving program and shortcuts as this feature affects only the current user session.

You have to log off the Computer and then log on again, in order to disable applications and shortcuts in startup folders. Now, you have to press and hold down the Shift Key, as soon as the Computer logs off. Then, keep holding the Shift Key until the desktop icon appears.
If you’re able to log on successfully, it means you’ve successfully isolated the cause of the problem to your startup applications. After finishing this process, you have to use the System Configuration utility to disable the applications one by one until you diagnose the problem. If you find the cause of the problem, you can fix the application permanently by removing it from the System Startup of the Computer.
