Use shortened Google Maps URLs

As there are a lot of parameters, usually Google Maps URLs are very long. Therefore, it is so difficult to add to a Twitter message, a news article or a banner. To come out of this issue, Google Maps Labs has added a new feature called “Short URLs”. You can use it to show short permalinks when you click on “Link”. The one more thing about the feature is it is using Google’s URL shortening service that is very fast. At the same time, the URLs are more descriptive because they include “” and “maps”.

If you want to get the full permalink, just right click on “Link” and copy the location. The main thing you have note about this is Google removes the embedding feature if you enable “short URLs”. In order make more sense to show the short URL as an additional option, Google stops the embedding feature.
