News: Bing discontinues bing.com/siteowner functionality

We really don’t know if it is a good or bad news. However, Bing has got a quick note to alert you that “bing.com/siteowner” will be shutting down in 60 days. As of April 4th, 2011, Bing will discontinue support for the bing.com/siteowner functionality.  If you still continue to leverage the feature after the announced date, you will be redirected to a 4040 page. This means, it is required to move to the Bing API in order to continue to receive web or site search results from us. The main two reasons to discontinue this feature are as follow.
The first reason is that the tool has not been getting a lot of use and while Bing has some very loyal customers on it. Bing says that it will provide you some better alternatives in the future.

The second reason is that the functionality is available through bing.com/siteowner can be replicated with the Bing Search API and so it feels a bit redundant.
As it has become customary, Bing will give you a window to migrate off and ask them any questions regarding the issue. Bing will even provide reminders as they get closer to April 4th.
