Tips: How to warp an item in Photoshop

One of the best commands in the Adobe Photoshop Application is the Warp command. This lets you drag control points to manipulate the shape of images, shapes or paths and so on. Moreover, you can also warp using a shape in the Warp Style pop-up menu in the options bar. Shapes in the Warp Style pop-up menu are also malleable; drag their control points.
If you’re using the control points to distort an item by choosing View > Extras shows or hides the warp mesh and control points.

3.    Then, follow any of the below steps.

o    In order to warp using a specific shape, choose a warp style from the Warp pop up menu in the options bar.

4.    If you wish to manipulate the shape, you can drag the control points, a segment of the bounding box or mesh or an area within the mesh.
5.    If you’re adjusting a curve, you can use the control points handles.
6.    This step is similar to adjust the handles in the curved segment of a vector graphic.
7.    If you make any mistake here and want to undo, click on Edit and select Undo.

A. Original warp mesh
B. Adjusting the handles, mesh segments, and areas within the mesh
•    If you wish to change the orientation of a warp style that has been chosen from the Warp Menu, it is required to click the Change The Warp Orientation BUTTON   in the options bar.
•    By clicking a square on the Reference point LOCATOR   in the options bar, you can change the reference point.

•    To specify the amount of warp using numeric values, enter the values in the Bend (set bend), X (set horizontal distortion) and Y (set vertical distortion) text boxes in the options bar. You can’t enter numeric values if you have chosen None or Custom from the Warp Style pop up menu.
• You can do one of the following:
•    First, press the Enter key for Windows and the return key for Mac. You may also click the Commit BUTTON   in the options bar.

•    If you wish to cancel the transformation, press Esc or click the Cancel BUTTON  in the options bar.
The main thing you’ve note about this is when you warp a bitmap image, the image will become slightly less sharp each time you commit a transformation. Therefore, it is required to apply the cumulative transformation before performing applying multiple commands.
