Tips: How to create your own power plan for the computer

In this article, let’s discuss about creating our own plan for the computers. Usually, you will be having the default options to change the power settings. If you’re not satisfied with the default power settings, you can go with your own settings. Consider you frequently use a mobile PC to give presentations, you can create a plan that keeps the display turned ON during the presentations and ensures that your mobile PC stays awake.
Okay, let’s discuss about creating our own power options.
•    It is required to open Power Options by clicking on the start button, selecting control panel and System and Maintenance.



•    Now, it is required to select the Power Options. You can also open the Power Options by typing power option in the search box.
•    Then, it is required to click Create a power plan on the left pane.
•    On the Create a power plan page, you can select the plan that's closest to the type of plan that you want to create.
•    Now, in the Plan name box, it is required to type a name for the plan.
•    You can name it as "Giving a presentation” and then click Next.
•    On the Change settings for the plan page, choose the display and sleep settings that you want to use when your computer is running on battery and when it's plugged in.
Now, let’s discuss about keeping the display turned ON during the presentations.
o    It is required to change the Turn off display after setting to Never for both On battery and Plugged in.
If you wish to keep your mobile PC awake during presentations
o    Change the Put the computer to sleep setting to Never for both On battery and Plugged in.
o    Make sure that the created plan will be set as the active plan. Therefore, it is required to select a different plan if you wish to change.
